2nd rate socket

Howdy. Just so you all know, DO NOT buy the KDS number 2432 socket from Napa. Its a 2 3/8'', which I guess is made for the spindle nut when servicing automatic hubs and that's what I bought it for. It's a piece of crap. It got my nut stuck inside (slippin) with much less than the required torque. (150 ft pounds) I'm gonna try to take it back tomorrow.

On auto hubs, the most that wheel bearing locknut is supposed to see is 35 ft lbs. when seating the bearings, then 16 in lbs (about 1.5 ft lbs). 150 ft lbs is for the locknut on manual hubs.
 






Mr. Shorty: I feel like an idiot! My bad. I guess the good thing is that I didn't drive anywhere with them that tight. Its still on the jackstands because I broke one of the nuts. (another story, and not from tightening it) Ehh, I'm still learning this stuff...
