2013 Ford Explorer PI
Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a 2013 PIU from the state of AZ. So far, I've mostly put the interior back together with junkyard parts.

Current issue how the heck do I get the door latch out - second row. There's no door panel, I removed the Torx screws and the rod connecting the door handle. I disconnected the wire plug. There is a black tab that is pushed into the door latch/actuator assembly, and no matter which way I tug or press, I can't get the @#$@#@ thing out.

Any tips from the guru/experts out there?

Here is the removal procedure for a 2013 Explorer, looks like you need to remove the outside door handle to get the latch off.
1.Remove rear door trim panel.
2.Remove door outside handle as outlined in Front & Rear Door Outside Handle.
3.Position weather shield aside.
4.Disconnect rear door latch actuator electrical connector.
5.Remove rear door lock push rod from door lock rod.
6.Push rear door lock rod and grommet through door panel.
7.Push rear door inside handle cable and grommet through door panel, and pull them back out through door panel access hole.
8.Remove rear door latch carrier screw.
9.Loosen rear door outside handle reinforcement carrier screw.
10.Slide rear door outside handle reinforcement to front of vehicle and push it inside door.
11.Remove three rear door latch screws.
12.Remove complete latch, carrier, and handle reinforcement assembly from rear door.
13.Open clip and disconnect front door outside handle actuating rod.
14.Remove rear door latch from rear door outside handle reinforcement carrier.

THANK YOU. Tired of cursing the car as the neighbors wonder what's up. I will try now.
