3.55 gears but what else?

I was just reading the thread about the Axle gears and found out I got 3.55's open diff. Now I have another question that somebody may be able to answer. About a week or 2 ago I went to a Ford dealer ship to find out if I could get a full stat sheet for my X. Meaning Axle Ratios,Axel sizes and such because I am looking to change the gears. Where can I find out, or could some one tell me what the spline count is and axel size that is in my X?

Yes, you have an 8.8 in the rear, what I've read here is that is a good rearend. It has a spline count of 31 on the axles. Lots of options you can go with.

1996 Explorer.

Ford 8.8" rear axle
31 spine axleshafts
Disc Brakes
8.8" gear ratios: 3.08, 3.27, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13.

If you have 4wd and want to change gears, you have to change the gears in the front differential if you want to use 4wd again.
