The rear end went out in my/wifes 2010 Explorer Eddie B and so i looked around for some used ones. All i could find was a rear end with 3.73 so i put that in a few months go and everythings work good now.

The the only thing that bothers me is now the speedometer if off, which i knew was going to happen.

Does anyone know where i can change the settings to coorect it, i have forscan but just not sure what to change.

Thanks

Not sure if on those there is a simple gear anywhere that you can change like in the older cars. It may be controlled by some shaft sensor in the tranny programmed with the OEM tire size. It may need some reflash.

Is your v6 or v8.

And I assume yours is 2WD ?

Did you notice any improvement in off the the line take off ?

I couldnt really say, we only had it for about a month before i change the rear end out and the wife drives it 95% of the time. the rearend was only like $120 compared to $800 for somebody to rebuild it.

I am really surprise you couldn’t find one with a 3.55. They are by far more popular than the 3.73

My 3.73 gears do good burnouts:)

That extra 5% torque must make all the difference
