I own a 95' Explorer 4 door XLT with 2 inch TT up front and shackles on the back. I saw all the threads on here that said if you add the 3" PA body lift you can fit 33's with minor trimming. After I got the lift installed the other day, the guy at the garage told me I cant fit 33's and he thinks I should go with 31x10.50. When I looked at it, I dont see any way that I could fit 33's either. Is this because I have running boards, because it appears that would be where I would rub. It looks like I would have to trim some plastic and METAL at the front of the running board. Am I missing something, anyone else have this problem? I think I might be able to squeeze 32's but then I dont know if a 12.50 wide tire would even fit. Thanks for any help.

you can fit 32x11.5 depending on your back spacing. I have the same lift set up and my 33s rub too much when flexing to really offroad, now i am saving $$ for some fiberglass fenders

The shop should be able to do a test fit and maybe let you drive a mile or two with the new wheels on.

Did you do the TT and shackles? If so, then your torsion bars and springs have started to "sag". The solution is to get new torsion bars and leaf springs. No way I would go through all that trouble and settle for a measly 31x10.50.

I have a 3" body lift only and the 31's look kind of small.

Rx4phun, do you have running boards? I ask because that would be where I would rub, and I would have to trim metal. I guess the other members who had the same setup with 33's probably took their boards off.

ive got a 2in susp lift and sometimes i think my 31s are kinda small with a tt and shackles plus a 3in bl u should be able to fit 33s with out any trouble maybe a little trimin but thats it

My tires seem small and I have the TT and shackles with a body lift. For mine it looks like 33s would fit height wise, but i'm not too sure on clearing the 12.50" width while turning, but I bet some new rims with the right amount of backspacing would work well with it.

I have a full 5.5" Lift and 3" BL and I still have to trim for my 33s.

Go for it, just trim the front bumper and the rear front fender and you'll be fine. It's definately worth it.:D
