OK,
I ran this by Rick and he gave me the ok for an intro. I tlaked to Chris Tartik at SPX Filtran soon after putting on my secondary filter for the trans because I was curious as to how much their filter removed versus a spin on oil filter.
Apparently these are highly used after rebuilds to catch any loose contaminants flowing through the system. They have a two large magnets and a media that will collect what the magnets miss. It also has a "Zero Leak bypass valve" that will open should the media become obstructed.
Chris was nice enough to send me four of these, and I am going to give out three provided you put them on and give some feedback to Chris, us or whomever. They are interested in our opinion and certainly a group buy. Very easy to install as well, just splice into the aux cooler rubber line.
Bulkparts.com carries them and you can search for SPX on Google to get a few links.
You guys, first come first served but this thread will serve as your promise to install and update us. All I ask is that you send me back whatever the shipping charge on the box will be. Honesty is a pretty cool thing, I think...
