Ok guys.... are yall ready for this one?? This might take a while. Well, my plans are to put a 302 in the Trac. Id like to start this thread as a write up that yall can follow along with. You might get some new ideas or maybe youre doing the same thing and have the same questions. I also realize that there has been threads on this started before and I have read those already. This install is going to be a little bit different. Instead of using a V8 out of an Explorer or using one of the FI motors, I will be using a Carb. The motor is out of an 84 Bronco. So far I have broken it down to just the block, pistons, and cam. I plan on getting the block redone at a friends machine shop this next week. I want to put the Edelbrock Top End kit along with a Holly Truck Avenger, and an MSD ignition with distributor. I also have a built AOD tranny and NP205 to bolt up. So far the only problem I see it the wiring. Will everything still work minus the gauges if I leave the harness in there? The A/C needs to work too. Whats yalls input so far??

Would most likely be easier swapping a motor out of a 2001 Explorer with the 302. Everything will bolt up and be easier to wire in. Find a wrecked one and pull the motor and trans out of it. You can find a transfer case from an F-150 that will bolt to the trans to give you hi and low range as well.

Yeah I know it would be easier but im tired of seeing the same thing. Im not really worried about the work that has to be done. I think it would be pretty cool at the end. Plus if I ever get more power hungry ill always be able to upgrade. Not that its not possible with that other motor, itll just be easier.

If you're doing that why not go for something like a 351?

Cause I got this motor, tranny, and transfer case for free!! :D

do u got video clip of the motor in ur sport trac

the only video clip of the truck is while the truck is in action... if thats what you mean?

The only thing that I want to continue working is the A/C. Im not worried about anything else. What im thinking is, leave the whole computer system installed and just leaving the engine harness connector disconnected. Im hoping someone on here figures out a way to make the A/C run on its own. Does anyone know if the A/C has anything to do with the computer??

yeah lets see the video sprocket
