Hi,
I am going to get some 32X11.50/15 's for my explorer. What should I do about the spare? Will a 32X11.50/15 fit in the spare compartment? It currently only has a 235/75/15. If not, any ideas about what I should do? Should I get a 31X10.50/15 for the spare or is it a bad idea to have a smaller spare than your tires?

Thanks,
Grant-P

A 32 will fit, but thats the BIGGEST that will fit. You may have to shift it around a bit to make sure the sawy bar doesn't hit it.

thanks

alright thanks im goona take your word on it..

I have a hidden hitch (Reese) on my '00 XLT and the stock 235 tire barely fit in there. In fact, I had to lower the tire to install the hitch and then raised it.

If you don't have a hitch, probably no problem, if you have a hitch, could be a problem if it's a hidden hitch type.

hidden htich

did you put the hitch on or does is come stock on some explorer? If they do come stock how would I know?

Until the 2002 model, no Explorer has came stock with a hitch. Hidden Hitch is a brand name, just like Reese and Draw-Tite. The towing package just added the relays, a wiring harness and on some years a tranny cooler (other years the cooler was standard).

the tow packages also included a metal plat in on the bumper that a tow ball could be attached to

can you get 32X11.50/15 's on a 2000 explorer without a lift mod?

Well I decided not to put the 32X11.50/15s on. I bought some 17"wheels instead. But no you cant put them on without lift mods. I wasnt positive they were goin to fit but was pretty sure. I have a 1.75" TT/Shackle lift and then was goin to have a body shop trim my fender to make them fit.
