I was just wondering what tire pressure all of you fellow explorers are runnin on you 32's. I'm running 35 in the front and 40 in the back. Is this right?
I run 35 all the way around for street driving and usually 20 for offroading.
Some people alter their psi from front to back... not sure why exactly but wouldnt you want more psi up front because of the weight distribution? so then you'd want to run 35 in back and 40 up front.
just rotate ur tires every 6K miles and you'll be fine
I used to run 33psi up front and 36 in the rear... That was so when I carried stuff in the back (or towed the water trailer 3 times a week) I didn't need to change the pressure..
Now that I'm not pulling the water trailer I have them at 34 up front and 35 in the rear.. I keep it higher in the rear to keep them from chirping as much (have a detroit locker).. I upped the pressure when I did the chalk test last time I replaced the tires.. seems between 33psi and 35psi the 32x11.50 on 8" rims (on our x) rides flat and the higher pressure makes the steering effort slightly less.
On the trail, I run 13psi if I really need the traction (I have yet to blow a bead, so I must still be too high ).. Otherwise I drop them to at least 20 when wheeling.
i have the 32" bfg a/t ko's on 15x8 inch rims, and i run like 48psi on the pavement, and like 15 - 20 offroad, if i drop below like 40 on the street, i notice my gas mileage starts to suffer, and my front tires start to wear funny,
