360 back up camera recall 2020-2023 models - FSA 23S02

Had mine done right after it came out at the end of January. Same as you, within a couple weeks it started going grey, then blue again later on. Often all cameras, not just rear. Took it back to the dealer and they said all modules had out of date software and updated them. Picked it up today and by the time I got it home it already had a grey screen putting it in the garage. Really getting frustrated with this.

Well, there are now reports from owners saying the blue screen is NOT fixed. I'm going to skip this one and wait for Recall #3. I seldom get the blue screen and when it dors hapoen, it goes away in 1-2 seconds.

Same here!

Just received my letter for 23S02. I haven't had any issues so I don't think that I'll take it in for this service or the seatbelt chimes either. I have a 2023 on order that hopefully will arrive late this month or early April.

No letter here
I'm about 6k from my warranty end, so I'll likely make an appt for a few minor things I want to try to get covered before the warranty expires.

Have you considered a Ford ESP? If I was keeping it beyond the factory warranty period and for a long time, I would definitely get an ESP.

That's what mine was doing, the initial 1-2 seconds when going into reverse and only after the first startup

Got it updated yesterday and so far so good. Will be watching.

Thanks, I'll look into that

Those things are a crap-shoot. You're betting it'll fail, they're betting it won't and the odds are on their side. I've had several over the years and only one paid for itself. When I bought my Mustang, the credit union wanted $2,200 for basic coverage. I declined and put $3K in a savings account. If I need it it's there, if I don't need it, it's still there. I did hit it for part of the $1,600 turbo replacement.

I agree ESP's are a bit of a "crap-shoot" but I would take one out anyway if I were to keep my vehicle past the warranty period for any length of time. In a way, the same applies to any insurance you buy. You pay for it and hope you never have to use it. For me, It's more about peace of mind.

My 2020 Platinum was in for service on Monday. The rear view camera was replaced back in January of 2022, it's been working fine ever since. Dealer advised me not to do the current recall as all seems fine. Now I see the recall was put on hold. Good, as my system is working great!

I was scheduled to have the recall done on April 3rd when I take my vehicle in to have the winter tires removed even though I haven't had any issues with the camera. I sent the service department a note about the recall being on hold and to cancel that and the loaner they were getting for me.

Reminds me that I need to make an appt while I still have warranty to have my 360 & front cameras checked. The camera image is really washed out. The rear is better but not nearly as good as the rear camera in our 2018 Expedition & my former 2016 F150 & 2015 Mercedes C300
Overall, the rear camera is about on par with our 2013 Flex, and the mirrors/front look like cheap aftermarket units.

You can check your VIN for recalls: This one for camera is the only one remaining on my 2020 ST

NHTSA Recall Number23V022
Recall Status Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available

I see that recall [23S02] in my Ford owner site, and when I'd called the dealer about it they said it wasn't ready yet.
Luckily, I haven't had any of the blue-screen issues, just poor camera quality

Mine is in right now for warranty items and I told them the camera recall fix didn't work when they did my first oil change and they told me the camera recall is being redone because it didn't take and that I would probably get another recall notice for the camera unless the release happens while mine is in the shop.

Received the letter from Ford yesterday indicating the recall of the rear view camera has been suspended.
