I need to R&R the enigne on my 3rd Gen XLT 4x4. Is it going to be easier for me to drop it or pull it from the top. I'm thinking drop it. I'd like to leave the transfer case, and tranny alone if at all possible. I'm in the process of getting a Ford Service Repair manual for my truck, will this explain the major things I will encounter, I've R&R'd engines in both FWD, and RWD vehicles, but never a 4x4. I'm not afraid of doing anything on a car, and I'm very mechanically inclined, so leave all the nonsense at the door.

I find it hard to believe that as big of a piece o'crap that this motor is, no one has pulled and replaced one. Seriously no one works at a dealer on here. The timing chains break in these all the time. What gives.

give people time to answer this is not live chat best way pull it out the top
