I see 265/70R17s are mentioned in this thread but has anyone run 275/60R17s?

I just picked up a '03 Eddie Bauer wearing 245/65R17 BFG Rugged Trails that might need to be replaced near summer and looking for something with a wider, sportier profile to help fill out the fenders a bit.

Anyone here ever run 265/60R17s or 275/60R17s have any problems with rubbing?

It should be fine. They measure out to a 30x10.8". I don't think you'll have any trouble!

People from this site have told me that you can go up to 265/70r17. I have an 05 with those rugged trails, they suck when the pavement is wet, i am getting sick of them and thinking about getting the Nitto Terra Grapplers 265/70/r17.

Help with selecting replacement tire size

I am trying to decide on sizes as well. Currently I have the limited with 245-65-17 I am looking into 265-70-17, 265-65-17, or stock 245-65-17. I assume clearance is not an issue with larger sizes. I use this thing for long trips and daily driving. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I love mine had them about a month or so, like Drew said do a search and you should find quite a bit of pics and reviews. Mine have been great through the last snow storm we had last week, didnt even need 4HI

Hello to all, just purchased some new tires for the 02 X and they are 255/65/17 and i believe they fit just fine....but i do have a question i got some new yokohama's Geo's put on they look nice on the car but anyone hear of any bad things about the tires

this thread should be stickied in the tire and wheels section or maybe the 02-05 explorer section where everybody with 3 gens with after market tires or wheels of any size or style should post a pic or 2 so others can use as a guide to help decide what they want to do for theres. so here's what 265/70/16 A/T tires look like on a 3 gen and as you can see there's lots of room left. they don't even come close to rubbing.
