So as was somewhat expected, one of the motors on my 3rd row seat has gone, a bit disappointing after only 2 months with the vehicle, but I kind of knew they like to wear out from prior research.

I have been searching around and so far it seems that the only option is to but the whole mechanism or to try a DIY fix. Is that the only current option still available? no rebuild kits or anything? and is the best price still somewhere around the $220 mark?

Thanks.

Not that I have seen. As far as I can determine it is not the motor that fails but a nylon drive gear. Seems someone could duplicate that but there is probably not enough incentive to do it.

Thanks, pretty sure it is the nylon gear piece as when I push the button the motor tries to do something but then jams. Annoying that the entire mechanism needs to be replaced for a couple hundred, when it's a plastic piece failing that's probably worth $5.

It's unfortunately, but I don't think you will find anything besides what you'll find in the lengthy repair thread. Since the vehicle is long out of production, I can't imagine anyone investing in another solution.

You'll find my how-to in that thread, which I did about 11 months ago. At that time, it was the OEM solution (around $250 per side), or a DIY solution.

can you goto a fab lab and just print on out of a 3d printer
