I have just purchased a 2003 model 4.0 OHC motor for my 98 X and just want to know if sensors like the Crank angle pickup and the water temp sensors from the new engine will be the same as my old sensors.

I have allready changes the whole inlet manifold, plenum chamber, injectors and valve covers. Can anyone help me out.
Thanks
:)

If they'll plug in then yes, I know the water temp sensor housing is different as the sensors don't screw in anymore but you can always just bolt your old one on.

Also, a major difference between 98 and 01up is the PCV system. The new style has plastic valve covers and the PCV valve is in the rear of the driver's cover but the old style has it in a vacuum hose in the rear of the engine. The main thing here is the canister between the cylinder heads below the intake manifold. You will need to knock out a freeze plug from the new engine and install this in the block or else your PCV system won't function properly and it could blow out every gasket you have.

Swapped a few of these engines before ;)

I see in under your name you say your in Sydney, the one in Australia? If not and your in the US then let me know if you wanna sell any of those 03' parts.

Thanks, Doug.

Thanks for the info, and yes I am in Sydney Australia, All the sensors seem to have the same connectors, the only sensors I will be using from the 03 motor will be crank, and the 2 water temp sensors so hopefully all should be alright.
