4.0 SOHC engine compatability

Replacing engine in '98 explorer 4.0 SOHC 4X4, found '99 4.0 SOHC also 4X4 on Ebay with 97k miles, but ebay shows not compatable. Both vehicles have "E" in 8th digit of vin. I've seen in the past a different plug on the harness may be the only difference. am I missing somthing?

i cant remember if you have to change your upper intake or not, but you will have to change all of your sensors over, and your fuel rail. other then that, they will swap over if they are both SOHC motors

The only difference would be the EGR tube. vroomzoomboom is correct, just use your intake, fuel rail and engine harness and you'll be good.

Was pretty sure I was right, but it's reasuring to have comformation from someone who's been there, before dropping big bucks on Ebay.
