I just got my 92 X back and i'm begining the modification process. First thing is gonna be the exhaust. I don't like the quiteness! I put 40 series Flowmasters on my 04 F-150 w/ 4.6 V8. I need some suggestions as to what sounds good on the V6. I don't want it to sound like a pissed off bumble bee!! :thumbdwn: What has everyone else had luck with?

p.s. any good websites for grille gaurds and such?

Exhaust questions are probably one of the most commonly asked questions on the site and they don't get answered much anymore. The search function works great at flushing out past queries over at least 5+ years this forum's been around.

I used a 2 1/4" Flowmaster 40 Delta and a straight pipe. I cut off about 12" behind the cat, and it ends in front of the axle. It sounds pretty good. Get the non-Delta 40 if you want it a little louder, but I think it came out good. I eventually plan to replace the 2 cats with a single high flow, but that's later...I haven't been able to find a pipe with the correct flange for the Y pipe.

The 66mm throttle body gives you that little 'whistle' noise when you stomp on the gas... i love it.

Flowmaster 40-series sounds ENORMOUSLY better then the stock muffler; nice deep grumble at low rpms/idle.

I wouldnt recrommend cutting the pipes while it is still under the car. Im pretty sure thats illegal in most states because the exhaust fumes go into the cabin.

Flowmaster 40 sereies was my top choice, i've had nothin but good luck with them in the past. I don't see any reason to stray from what works!

I am running a 40 series delta flow with a straight pipe and love it
