hi, i thought i had read this somewhere, but cant find it. i have a 90 ranger with a 4.0L OHV with a auto trans. i found a 95 4.0L OHV that had a auto trains for $150 complete from front to back, up and down. will this work in my ranger, or is there any differences in the two. thanks

yes there are differences, yes it will work in your ranger.

the 95 block has much stronger heads then your 91

all 4.0L OHV's 1989 to 2001 are interchangeable, meaning you can strip them down to the block and heads and install them in any years OHV truck.

in your 91 you will just ignore the 95's cam position sensor, just leave it in the block and dont hook it up.

I have done several threads on these conversions, in cluding putting a 97 OHV into a 95 truck, recently I put a 97 engine into a 94 truck, I have also done a 96 Ranger intoa 97 Exploere, etc
