well I want to order my new gears this week, but now i cant decide between 4.10 or 4.56.
I have a stock 4.0, but with a more open exhaust that opened up some higher RPM horsepower. I currently have 31"s with a 3.73 ls in the rear. I'm doing the dana 44/ford 9" swap and going with probably 33"s I have the mitsu 5-speed and currently pull about 2800 Rpm at 70 mph (not adjusted for 31"s)
Eventually I will swap in a 5.0. probably with a t-5. I want good highway prowess, but still want some power off the line and in towing. According to the tire gear chart with a 1:1 tranny a 33" with 4.56 will turn 3018 RPM, but what is the mitsu 5-speed? a 27% O.D.? which would yield a 2200 rpm?? does that sound right?? Thats a little low if you ask me.
also is $420 a good price for front and rear gears with bearings, shims, etc??
