so after looking on here, ive hit a dead end. superlift says the front shaft will fail with this kit. does anyone know how to go about finding a driveshaft that will work with this kit? will superlift's (9636) driveshaft work on a 97 mountaineer AWD? i called, and they didnt know what i was talking about... thanks!

The stock driveshaft will fail with a 4" lift kit.. Mine went bye,bye real quick. I thought all the front driveshafts were the same, so it should work.

Mountaineer Green (Evan) would know for sure though.

I don't believe the driveshaft will work, don't know for sure though, I never got to try. What you should really do is put in a BW4406, other wise known as a true 4x4 manually shifted case. After that, you can use a junkyard conglomeration for a driveshaft that doesn't cost much. The cost of the swap is offset significantly by the ability to use a cheaper driveshaft, plus you'll have true 4x4 and low range, so you can really use your lift.

ive thought of it, but i dont know if i can do all the work. plus its serious $$$ for one around here, like $800. cuz the 4.2 f150/expedition wont work for the AWD transfer case i dont think. is there any way my front shaft now can be redone with the correct joint?

like an adapter or something that can be welded on? would 410 know? (sorry about the questions, but this is one of those "oh ****" moments haha)
