yea you do they need to be 5.550 i would suggest getting new rockers also you can get both at delta cams or just rods at smith brothers they also make an adjustable pushrod that you can use to check the length, thats the only way to be for sure on length

delta cams part #f40 with 5.550 rods

smith brother part #nr54a-ed

thanks ill be ordering soon

also if you are going to be pulling your heads off, witch you got too to get the lifters out unless you tie them up,i would go ahead and get dual springs put in,comp cams calls for the 988 springs for both the 410 and 422,you can get away with stock springs but the 410 cam is right at the limit for them.i would and did

just check my measurements and 5.550 are going to be too much preload.people swear up and down that 5.550 was the measurement but thats .080 preload and for our lifters we should only have 40 to 50.i just found anouther thread saying that the should be 5.525
http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88132
read the whole thing tho,i will be measure an exact measurement later today and will post what can be used with the right preload later today,it looks like the 5.525 would be closer to being correct.sorry for the wrong measurement earlier as i was told that also!!like i said earlier get an adjustable one and make sure what length you need, but i will post later what i will be using

o and im using dealta cams rocker assembly also so that may make a difference if your running stock rockers but if your getting a new cam i would get new rockers also

i will be going with the 5.525 and thats 60% preload but the way our rockers wear i think the extra 10% will be good in the long run.the 5.550 are way too much preload!!

thanks for the info i agree about the little extra. i think everything on the 4.0 gets excessive wear on it. but in a good aspect its cheap to fix to.

yea no prob good luck man
