460CID in a 1st gen X

well, you really have nothing to worry about as far as extra crap goes. Put a 1000cfm holley on it and take off...keep it simple as possible

wonder what kind of numbers those engines produce stock? 300hp?300 tourque? That would be so sweet!
I was browsing ebay and found a stroker kit that would make the 460 to a 514 for $800. And I think the 429 parts are interchangable...? Has anyone thought about checking the junkyards for the old 85 thunderbirds with the turbo's...TWIN TURBO 514 STROKER MOTOR!! woot! You would need like a 2000cfm dominator to feed it.:D

i have a 460 in my 72' mach, which is at just under 550 horse. it whould have roughly 610 torque too. Stock dependin on the year newer ones (fuel injuected) id say 300 or more at least, and probobly 380 or 400 torque. a good friend of mine has his 460 stroked up to 625ci. which is crazy but i guess they can get over 700 ci!! 429s and 460's are completely interchangeable, the truth about a 460 is that it is a stroked 429 (same block) different crank.if anyone is thinkin of building a 460 im pretty good with them and know a great list of parts suppliers from blowers to cranks and cams.

Thanks Mach1460
WOW...700CID twin turbo Ford engine...hmm may not need the turbos.:D
Im starting to see the way, jedi master.

hey maybe you could supercharge and twin turbo it and put in nos and run jet fuel........... then go BOOM!
