Here's a Weird one for sure.
What in the world would make my trans puke oil out of the overflow tube on deceleration only! Last night I had to use the wife's corolla after finding that my Xplorer wouldn't move of course thinking that the tranny had gone bad. I drive a 94 mile route every night and last night I was able to track myself because every where I would normally get off the gas and start to brake to stop there would be a trail of trans fluid. The trail would stop after a couple of feet when I'd be pulling away only to do the same thing again before every stop. Now keep in mind that this was when I was in a very mountainess region. It did NOT do it when I was on flat land in which is at the beginning of my 94 mile route. Once I'm off the mountain I have about 10 miles till I get home and there was no fluid on that part of the trip. I don't even know how I made it back home again but sure as anything the trans had no fluid in it this morning when I checked.
Did something stick that made the pressure stay while decelerating?
I need the trans experts here... brooklynbay, glacier, gijoecam, azwack!!!
Vehicle is: 95 Xplorer 4.0 4X4
