hello, i has bought in USA rebuild 4R55E transmission to ford explorer 1995 year 4*4 . This transmission installed to truck only few days ago. truck start great and drive perfect. but after 20 miles, troubles started. he runs forward in all transmission gear selectors (in N and P i see engine loaded), in R one second drive forward and stopped (when R on). in N drive to front very strong. if i need go back, i must stopped engine and pushed truck to rear. i removed oil pan and remove valve body. all see great, no damage and oil clear. i check manual valve and all solenoids. all good. i start engine to few seconds w/o oil in transmission pan, and he dont run. i think forward clutch not jammed. when i add oil in transmission and start engine, aprox 10 seconds truck not moved in engine idling speed. i try give more acceleration and he start moved after few second he start moved in N he began to go very strongly (after i has released a brake.) i shut off engine and go. I return to garage today morning and start engine in N selector. when engine only started, truck go forward so strong (no paused). Guys, please help me. should me advise where review. That it can be. Any ideas about this problem? i live in Ukraine, sorry for my english. i want repair it local. i don't know ford RWD transmission good. to this moment i rebuild only two chrysler FWD transmission. I WAITING YOUR ANSWER>
thanks, Roman

hello,
morning i returned to checking transmission. I removed oil pan (now i not waiting more time) i start engine in N transmission selector. Car start moved w/o oil pan. i shut off engine, and faster unbolted valve body (oil not have time to leak from converter.) i start engine and car start moved, but more oils go from converter and he moved slow. Now i think, the front clutch pack died. when more oil leak from converter, car don't want moved. i think today i start removed transmission from car.
thanks, Roman

Roman, it looks like English is your second language. Its hard for me to diagnose your problems with your description. With that said, you should never run your truck with the trans oil pan off! You could easily burn up your clutches while running the trans with no fluid. This is just a guess, but if you run the truck with no trans oil for more than a few minutes, you already burned the clutches and it may be time for another rebuild. They sell ATSG rebuild manuals on ebay if you plan on doing the rebuild yourself. Good luck.

Hello, thanks man to your answer. i know about running with no trans oil. i started engine only no more 20 seconds and moved no more 20". Ok, about transmission. I remove it from car and has disassembled. I check all and i have. died forward clutch friction and steel disks (one piece). and in bad condition Hi/reverse clutch. About why i have it. ... from seller words i have bought full rebuild transmission. but i don't see any new parts in this transmission. all used (clutches, bands, seals....all). all rubber o-rings have bad condition. i think i not have good oil pressure to clutches (and have old clutches). But must tell all steel parts have perfect condition. Ok i must change all from rebuild kit and see, what i have. but i must tell! no buy any transmission from this seller:
