I have a 97 explorer that only works in reverse. I saw the other postings but my problem is slightly different. I'm very familiar with hyd. and thought the trans work almost the same way. Is there a pressure solenoid that could be bad not allowing oil pressure to engage forward gears. Every once in a while it will move slowly but at high rpms. please help

This is exactly what my '97 Mountaineer does. Did you ever solve this?
