4r70w shifts 3-4 too quick

i tried to search but couldn't find much on 3-4 shifting in a 4r70w. My transmission seems to be shifting into 4th gear at 50 mph and immediately drop to 1,500 rpms...it has never done this...also there is a small whine coming from the trans accelerating out of this..

I don't know what involves a 3-4 gear shifting too fast, any ideas would be nice

OK,
try turning off the od and see if the "quick shift" still occurs. I wonder if you are sensing overdrive ( 4th gear), or the torque converter lockup. This also feels like an upshift.

Frequently a whine from the automatic is caused by a restriction in the filter in the tranny...Do you know when the last time the tranny was serviced? Fluid and filter changed?
