I having problems switching into 4WD when the temp gets down below freezing. I hit the botton and it makes a few clicks and no light comes on and the front drive shaft is not spinning when I move forward or back. Now this all works great in weather above freezing, but that isn't helping when the roads are full of snow and ice:P Has anyone else had or have this problem or know what is up??

It is not uncomon for this to happen. Ford even has a TSB about it.

Ok maybe I am stupid but what is a TSB? Is this something on there website I could look up? Can this be fixed?

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin. All auto makers use this term for things that they f'ed up on the car but don't tell you about or repair until you come to them. Unlike a recall, this info is generally available to the dealership shops and people who look around for it. Provided your truck falls under the affected years, it should be repaired free of charge.

I'm not sure if this board has a listing somewhere, but search for your problem and TSB (or pehaps someone will post the TSB number of your problem).

Good luck!

Go to www.alldata.com click on recalls and TSB, click on YOUR truck year and make and you will find recalls and TSB for YOUR truck!
Even tho you may have a older truck, like me, if you see recalls for your truck, go to the dealer and have them check if YOUR truck has had these recalls done to it! If NOT have it done! It should be FREE!!!

Thanks a bunch guys!!!:) You all were very helpful. I will check on this right now. I will update my status here when I find out more. This will hopefully help some others with the same problem.

TSB's are not always in reference to recalls. Most are used to inform technicians of common problems or revised repair procedures. The TSB on the t-case problem is not a recall, it is just a memo to inform technicians that there is a known problem with the t-case failing to engage in tempatures below freezing. There is no repair information or suggestions on how to fix it.
