2001 sport
Hey guys,

I have a 2001 Sport. If I disconect the battery or pull the fuse for the 4WD it will work fine for about a week. After that, it will no longer work again until I repeat either or. Any ideas as to why it's doing this?? Winter is coming soon, and I don't want to be without it.

Thanks!

Could it be the servo/solenoid sticking and overheating? how long do you have to disconnect the fuse/battery for?

Just a second. I pull it out and put it right back in and its fine again.

Have you tried searching? And are you following proper 4wd engagement procedure? And have you engaged 4wd on dry pavement?

I've only engaged on dry pavement for about a car length while backing a trailer in my gravel driveway. I am engaging properly. It's acting as though there isn't any power. The light on the dash doesn't come on when I turn the switch. I've tried searching, but I can't find anything similar to my problem. I'll try again.

Thanks

A good section to look first are the stickies in the Transmissions & Transfer Case section.

Well after searching the forums again, I've come across that it may possibly be the 4wd module. It seems though that only 2002 and newer had this problem. I did notice that my 4high and 4low lights do not light up momentarily when starting the vehicle after the 4wd quits working. For the couple of days that it does work they will light up. I doubt its my motor on the t-case. Does anyone have an opinion??
