4wd lite

1991 ranger 4wd 5 speed rusty,4wd had been working,started truck yesterday,didnt touch the 4wdbbutton but it lit up,4 wd is not engaged and the lite wont go out,any ideas?thanks

Is the truck cold? In cold weather it's not uncommon for the light to be partially illuminated when the truck is still in 2WD. It's just a weird thing these trucks do.
