I was inspect at suspension on 99 ranger 3.0L and 99 Explorer 4.0L.
What surprised me that ranger's 4wd aren't in lock all times it unlock. I could see it had vacuum hose to hub.
I wonder why didn't Ford put this on explorer and we could gotten 25 mpg out explorer without 4wd stay spin all times wear out parts.
How hard to convert to manual 4wd like ranger it had electric on fly shift like my explorer.
