can anyone tell me wut is wrong with my 4 wheel drive...? it doesnt wanna go into it... mines automatic 4x4 so i dont kno if i have to do nething special for it or turn nething on for it... but wen i push the button for 4x4 low or high it doesnt do nething... do i need to get a new 4x4 thingy or wut.. im stumped! iv tryed everything i could think of.. put it in park, nutrual, drive, off! lol im out of ideas.. i wanna kno if ne1 can tell me sumthing usefull befor i bring it in to a shop... thanks :thumbsup:
 






Year, model, etc. If it is 94 or older try tapping the metal "coffee" can on the t-case w/ a mallet.
 






Welcome to the site. Try searching and you'll get a ton of info.. 98% of the time the failure is related to the electronic shift motor attached to the Transfer Case. This device is an electrical motor that rotates the T-case from 2H to 4H to 4L when it receives the correct signal from the 4x4 computer (unfortunately it is common for this motor to get frozen in position from lack of use, or loose its position due to the geared position sensor moving outside it's operational range.
