4X4 high Light Blinking with ABS light on

Hi all! I'm new here and have found plenty of well needed info. Could someone please tell me the best way to disable my 4x4 module? It's turning on and off on it's own and I need to drive the vehicle while I investigate. Thanks

Your 4x4 actually isnt engaging and turning off. There is a very good chance the cause of what you are seeing is the rear abs sensor(mounted on the top of the rear differential) going bad and causing your abs light to come on along with the 4x4 high flashing. These sensors run around $30 and apparently dont have longevity on the explorers. I ran an abs scanner on mine and it came up with codes 1236 and 1235 which both go back to this particular abs sensor. Im actually going to see about getting one tomorrow and replacing mine as Im currently having the same problem right now. It's real annoying with all this high tech stuff they put on the cars and trucks anymore! You may want to try out your cruise control too(if you have it) as it may not work now because of this very same problem. They seem to be connected somehow that since the abs sensor goes bad it disengages your cruise control too. I hope this helps give you some ideas.
