4x4 lights flashing?????

Hi!!!
I have a 97 ford explorer and my 4x4 lights high and low are both flashing and i have no 4x4....

whats wrong....anybody help???

I unplugged the battery for 15mins and now it works...
the flashing is gone and 4x4 is back...

Most likely your transfer case shift motor was stuck or had an error and wouldn't engage. It is a common problem.
