hi there, could anyone please help me find out what exactly wrong with my LOW range 4x4. It only goes to Auto then HIGH but i dont think it goes to LOW even it says on the dashboard....

1st try; I have tried to select it on HIGH and i tried making a U turn and it seems its woking and then i fully stop and select it N position and turned the knob into LOW and tried to take off but it feels the same to me....

2nd try; While i was on the LO and i tried to go back to normal position (AUTO) but it kinda stuck on HIGH even sign on the 'DASH' cluster say's LO nor HIGH.
so i need to switch off the engine a re-start it again then it came back into normal mode AUTO....

first i checked; i can hear the relay clicked under dash when i change it into HIGH and into LO but when i tried to change it back to AUTO i hardly hear the relay click's....

second i checked the trasfercase motor under and i took it out and it seems it working but when i pulled it out i can turn the selector rod from N into HIGH but i cant turn it into LO, is that bad or ?

please need this fix urgent....

if theres any link that you can share please do so...
thanks!!!

You need to relieve the drive line pressure when manually turning the cam on the t-case. Have someone rock the truck a bit as you turn it.

Just to be clear here, and sorry if you said it but I didn't understand you all the way....

Gear selector in Neutral
Foot depressing the brake
Switch to 4h...light comes on
Switch to 4l...light comes on

Did all that in that order correct? Just making sure here is all.

thanks for the reply...

yes when ever i switch it on 4h then yes the light comes on and when ever i switch it to 4l yes the light comes on too but when i go forward it feels im still in 4h. i remember someone told me i will feel a big difference soon i select it on 4l because its gonna be very slow take off but i never felt that way...

and theres more.... soon i wanted to go back on Auto4wd and tried to turn the knob switch back, the light on the dash stays on 4h and i have to restart the engine to go normal...

im so confuse and dont know where to start....

Actually, the vehicle is going to gain lots more pep in low range. It will feel twice as powerful.

When in low range, it will wind out the gears very quickly. Top speed in 5th gear will be around 45 mph, just to give an example. You will definitely know it.

If you have to reset it by turning off the engine, I am leaning towards your 4x4 module being bad. It's located in the rear dr side behind the cargo panel. This might be the issue, but I'm not 100% on this. It might be something as simple as a bad relay, or as bad as a fried GEM.

Keep bumping this thread, someone else can chime in here with an opinion for you as well.

but if theres anymore you can think of please let me know... thanks!;)
