Hey yall,
My wife has a 2003 Chevy Silvarado Z-71 1500. I have never owed a 4x4 before and was wondering what I need to do to service the 4x4 components. She is approaching 110,000 miles and I just want to make sure that I don't miss something with changing fluids. I heard something about checking the seals on the front differential or something of that sorts. What I figure is that all I need to do is change the fluid in the front and rear differentials along with the transfer case. Let me know what yall think.

Thanks,

Tex

usually if the differential seals are leaking it's obvious. Checking the level of the oil in the differentials is a good place to start. If they are full and the seals aren't leaking, you're probably OK. I'd check the owners manual for the reccomended frequency to change it. If it hasn't been contaminated with water, the stuff will last just about for ever, it's not like motor oil. It probably won't hurt to change it if the factory says so but check your manual to be sure. Don't overfill or it may leak past your axle seals and into your brakes [rear]

Sweet Thanks Rudy
