4x4 not engaging

the 4x4 is not engaging. there's no noise, no light indicator for four high or four low. it just didn't work the last time i went to engage it. the fuse is good. what do i look at next?

hit the round silver motor on the t-case with a hammer. this worked with mine. I had the same problem. Does it work sometimes, and not others? Give it a try.

this worked thanks! but now i can't get the wife to jump out, crawl under the truck and tap on that little silver motor. should i replace it (the motor not the wife)? where can i get one?

you might try kensington auto parts 1-800522-2897, i believe they are part of a nationwide network of bone yards owned by ford, also did you get a chance to read my previous link, i had the exact same problem as yours and this did the trick it was pretty easy to do, and it solved my problem for over a year now.

maybe i need a bigger hammer cuz mine will not engage unless i was tapping on it while my brother was pushing the button.
