Hi - I have a 02 ranger xlt 4.0 - all worked fine until a month ago when 4x4 would not work. Lights on dash turn on when truck is started ( so bulbs work ). When shifting to 4hi there is nothing - no lights, nothing, but a clicking sound from right kickplate (4x4CM). Replaced swith on dash, replaced 4x4CM ( used parts ). Replaced shift motor (recon), nothng seems to work.
With shift motor off I can engage 4x4 hi or low by turning the selector on the xfer case - works fine. Checked the wiring from the cab - seems that there is no power coming to the shift motor. Should I try and new CM - the CM clicks whenever the selector is put into 4hi or lo and clicks when selected back into 4hi. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
