my 4x4 will not work.I am getting 0.8 volts to the switch and 0.2 volts to the motor on the t case.Power to the control module is 12 volts but I think this is the problem.I live in canada and they want 300 for one.Any ideas.

Here are the diagnostics and connector pinouts. They are for a 2001 but your 2002 should be the same.

I believe the TM101 is the Motorcraft module number. You should be able to find that for much less than dealer cost.

Sorry to butt in I have a question. I have a 2002 Explorer Sport Trac and the 4x4 will not come on but I do hear a clicking noise coming from the glovebox area. I read on here that it could be a Mod. problem or even a shifting motor problem. Any help would be nice, also the battery was replaced about 8mo ago. And yes when I start it up both 4x4 high and 4x4 low lights come on.

I am from london ont.,and I have the same truck. My lights do not light up in the dash and my switch does not work. The 4x4 module that you hear clicking is behind the passenger kick panel.I have power to the module, but none to the switch or motor on the T case. You should get a voltage tester and test on electrical parts of 4x4.;switch motor and module. If your getting power to switch it could be your switch.I think it is your module.IT is easy to remove 2 screws and 2 elect plugs,Up in canada they want 300 for one.The part no. is on the module.Just pull off the kick panel with your hands.Good luck
