Good day all.

New to this forum... like what I see !

I bought my X '97 used 3 years ago and everything was working great. It now has 190,000km or 110,000milles on it.

I made a few mods on it but not much since it was already modded with a lift and cosmetics added to the body. I just put in a K&N filter and 30" tires.

Now, after winter as passed, I had the X in 4x4 one day and I could barely turn to park it. Hard grinding front front wheels. I hand to straighten it out and do a hard reverse in order for the 4x4 to 'unstick'.

Now, I don't use the 4x4 and pray that it does not rain so that it will not ingage again.

I had a %$#@ Dodge Dakota v8 before that did this stupid trick. I got rid of it. But this time around, I like this truck. It's very practical and never had problems with it until now.

Can someone let me now if my transfercase is shot... or do I have a chance in salvaging it !!

Thanks again!

Sly from up north!

Were you driving with the 4x4 engage on dry pavement?

Never trun the 'knob' to 4x4high on dry pavement if that's what you mean.

But, when it rains and i'm at a stop, by pressing the gaz (not to race the gino in his supped up trans next to me) to accelerate, the traction from the wheels pick up and might engage the 4x4...

Then I have problems turning and parking...

on '97+, 4x4 is alway engaged in auto when you first start, wet or dry.... up to 35mph. You sure your power steering is working???
