4x4 question

I have a 91 explorer and the 4 wheel drive has not been activated in over 10 years. is it ok to try it? and what could happen if I do?

No harm in trying. It will either work, or it won't. If it doesn't, then post again describing what you observe.

x2 what Ranger said. Just don't be doing 40MPH on pavement when you hit the 4x4 button. Get on gravel or dirt and engage it, drive slow with no sharp turns and go from there.
