anybody know whats needed to convert a 1996 ford explorer sport 2wd to a 4wd like as in parts im planing in doing a swap any help would be appreciated
thanxs

knuckles from a 4WD.
cv shafts.
front driveshaft.
t-case.
possibly the 4WD transmission, or atleast the tailshaft (if it's removeable).
rear driveshaft from 4WD.
front differential.
frame mounts for front diff.

wiring for 4WD switch, unless you get a manual shift (I think those were offered?)

that's the majority of it, anyway.

Your best bet is to put in the manual transfer case right away... save yourself the wiring headache. Find a BW1354 manual from a Ranger or 1st gen Explorer... you will most likely need a new tailshaft for the trans.
