5.0 Engine Rebuild: Valvetrain

Those are the ones
Last thing I got for ya, how do I know which keepers go on intake and exhaust? All my stock keepers were exactly the same, now I have 8 that are gold and thicker than original. They all have just one notch except on the gold ones it’s farther down on the keeper.

Why do you have those
Gold ones?
They are +0.050 so I’m assuming they compress the spring a bit right from the start. The factory keepers are the same on all 16 valve stems
My comp cams setup uses the same keepers on all 16, the regular 11/32 ones the black bag… never seen those gold dudes before

Not sure, that’s what came with the valve kit. Think I should contact them and ask/confirm?
Edited: Those gold ones are advertised with the kit on their website, can’t be the wrong ones. And i’ve double checked with them about this valve kit working with my cam and roller lifters.

Just curious! Maybe the intake valves get the +0.05 keepers? I would for sure ask them!! Curious minds want to know. If they supplied them they can tell you where to stick them hahahaha

I've been deep into some research the last week on all of this and have found out a few things. I inquired in two other SBF groups on Facebook and reddit and honestly seemed like a 50/50 debate on that comp cam valve spring kit working or not. I'd rather know 100% it will function properly and not cause future damage or lessened performance. Ultimately, that kit is for flat tappet because of the lower seat pressure. It advertises like 110 on the website at 1.800" install height. The seat pressure comp cams told me it would be at 1.800" is 140. Which is in a suitable range for my hyd roller, but nobody seems to knows how he came up with 140 rather than 110. Some people shared their experiences with advice from comp not always being accurate. Too much doubt in a valve spring kit working for me, an overthinker. So I will return that kit and actually just purchased a promising valve spring kit from Alex's Parts. I'll link the kit on this post. It is designed specifically for a SBF with GT40P heads and for mild cams including mine specifically. 16 of the same size retainers and locks also. It is beehive springs which I was not familiar with until now but there's a few benefits to that spring design. Anyways, I feel much better going with this kit instead and have learned more than I thought I would about valvetrain. Only downside is like a 30 day wait period for the kit because it is custom. Should be plenty of time though to get the short block completed.
*NEW* SB Ford, GT40P, E7 Drop In Beehive Valve Spring Kit, Max Output .525" Lift, Hyd Roller, Custom Built to Order.
