5.0 loose heat sheild

i was under my dads 97 v8 awd lowering it the other day and i noticed once of the head sheilds had some broken welds that attached it to the pipe. the sheild was facing tword the ground. now we were at a drive through the other day as i rolled down the window to pay the lady o noticed it was rattling really bad. would it hurt anything to remove this. untill we can get it welded back on?

attach vise grips, and yank

or run a large ass hose clamp around it, or re-weld it. I havent had heat gurads since 98 I think

had the same problem on my 94xlt. yank them!

Mine rattled badly when the tiny tack welds failed. I wanted to keep as much heat as possible away from the radius arm bushings so i decided against yanking them. I used stainless steel hose clamps and they make zero noise.
