5.0L Exhaust Suggestions

I want to put a true full dual exhaust system on my 2001 5.0L Limeted AWD. Currently it runs from the exhaust manifolds through two cats and then y pipe into one muffler. Why waste all that effort with two cats and then ruin it by going into one muffler. Any suggestions on kits to go to full dual exhaust. I want it to be a little bit louder but not too loud. Also if I upgrade to dual exhaust I should get better performance right?

If you want to keep your spare tire, get a side swept Gibson exhaust kit. Dad has one on his mounty and it sounds/performs great with his 5.0

The increased performance will be measured in tenths of a second in the 1/4 mi. In other words, not much.
Almost any flowmaster of magnaflo or gibson muffler is going to be louder & probably drone going down the road. At least the ones I have tried did.
I just put a Y pipe behind the stock muffler & got rid on the resonator.
Its a nice V8 sound outside and quiet on the hgwy. A good muffler shop can route the pipes around the spare and come out the back. Check my gallery.
No one but you would know if you had "true" duals anyway.
