I am the proud owner of a '03 X with NBX pack.
So, the story goes:
When I have about 15,000 miles on the truck I got a screw in the sidewall of my passenger side rear tire. The tire was deemed irreperable, and I bought a new tire. No problems. I drove my truck all over the country since then, adding another 20,000 miles.
Now I am getting a slight thump when I cruise without acceleration. the thumping is noticable the most at around 60 MPH. I took the truck to the dealer and asked them to look at it. They asked me about the tires and I told them that I had changed the right read tire 20,000 miles ago. They took the truck for the day and told me that one tire is larger than the others due to wear and this is why I get this thump. I would have accepted this answer 20,000 miles ago, but I have driven many miles without this thump.
So, do you guys think this tire difference could truly be the problem, even thought the tire was replaced so many miles ago?
If the tire is the issue - how do I fix this? Do I have to buy 4 new tires?
