I am new to the site but have been lurking for a few months. Very impressed with the knowledge offered here and that leads to my question.
I recently replaced the filter and fluid in the transmission (5R44E) of my son's 04 Ranger XLT and found three small machined parts (pictured below) in the bottom of the pan upon removal. I'm hoping someone can help me identify what they are and perhaps where they came from. At first I thought they were magnets but they do not stick to any metal and there is an obvious ferrite magnet strip in the corner of the pan. I'm also pretty sure they do not belong there.
2 of the 3 on a paper towel
2 of the 3 in the center section of the pan (after cleaning of course)
Any transmission experts know what these small parts could be?
