I have a 1998 Ford Explorer 4x4 Black edition XL 4.0 SOHC 150k miles and my reverse gear has just stopped working. Every other gear seems to be ok except when switching to 4low there is a loud clunking noise every 3 seconds from the trans and a clicking noise from the dash switch then just one clunk going back to 4hgh or 4auto but they seem to engage ok. Its also slipping a bit intermittently at high speeds. Overdrive is ok and no check engine or overdrive light. i believe its a 5R55E
Please help as Im sick of pushing the damn thing backwards
