Hey guys. I swapped in a 5R55E into my Ranger. It had 130,000kms and a mystery past. But it was cheap
Anyways it bolted in and it drives! (step up from my blown 4r55e). But it isn't perfects so I have a few questions:
First...it flares between shifts. Mostly 2-3 which leads me to believe it is a EPC solendoid. I only drove it a bit but I think it may flare a bit when going into another gear. Doesn't feel sloppy tho so that is positive. How hard is it to change solenoids?
Second...it takes forever to engage into gear. When putting it into drive it takes up to 4 seconds to start driving forward. Reverse takes about 2 seconds. What is up with that? Driveline pressure? (I don't even know what that means but it seems to me to be something that may be the problem
)
I put an oil filter in line with my tranny lines so I am hoping the fluid stays clean and may even fix some of these problems?
I was thinking of getting a CVB valve body anyways to really make this transmission last long and work good..would that fix these problems?
