So my 2000 explorer with the 5r55e tranny has decided to start sending off the code for the Transmission Range Sensor. this causes my O/D light to flash and the check engine light to come on. It was doing it daily and then stopped for 2 weeks. I put 3000 miles on in those 2 weeks and today while in the city it started acting up and putting on the lights. Where is this sensor? and how hard would it be to replace? (Acting up means that it shifts extremely hard and harsh and acts like you're taking off in second gear when leaving a stop)
