I heard that the a4ld has a test port, perfect for mounting a pressure gauge, does the 5r55e have one as well? If not, is there somewhere else to install a pressure gauge?

The detailed answer is on this forum, just do a little more searching. Otherwise my quick answer is there is a test port on the drivers side above the transmission pan before the shift link. It's a little difficult to see but you should see a plug there. Regards.

Thanks for the info guys. Glacier I found your thread about the guage. Is it the same spot for the 5r55e? What threading is it? Lastly, where is the EPC test port, and would it be better to measure pressure there or on the other port?

The regular test port is on the driver's side, and the EPC test port is on the passenger's side. Each one is for a different kind of test. Check # 10 in my list of useful threads for more information.

I'm not looking for any specific test, i really just want to be able to monitor internal pressure, so if I end up with a leak or something I will be able to tell via the in pan temp gauge and the pressure gauge. Would the standard test port be best for that?

Constant Pressure

To Monitor constant pressure, the standard test port is the one.

I was looking at a picture of a 5r55w and it seems the test port is behind the electronic shift crap on the trans. Is there even room to get a gauge in there?

Thanks guys, appreciate the info =]

No, not yet. Playing call of duty 4 =] I might go with either of those, but i prefer analog gauge faces.

Some analog gauges use LED lighting for the background, and they let you set what color scheme you like. I guess you could swap the incandescent bulb for an LED to give you the same effect. Did you find a pressure/temperature gauge combo? This would give you both readings on the same gauge. Some even have a colorful half circle bar graph.

Probably the pillar, though I'm thinking about mounting some above the rear view mirror or possibly where the sun visor went, since I dont use mine anyways.
