I am having 2/3 flare issue on 02 exp with p0745 code/ o/d light flashing. Until this issue appeared a couple wks ago no problems with shifting (came on suddenly). I just switched out the Solenoid Pack and filter/fluid today. Problem is same.

While doing this I noticed the harness sheath looked worn/shredded close to the connector and there was dirt embeded in the top of the connector. Unfortunately I didn't pay too much attention to this as I had to get the truck back on rd and hoped new solenoid pack would clear the shift problems.

Can the harness be replaced and how easy is it? Also any one got any advice what else to look at that might be causing the flare issue?

Any help appreciated as I'm not able to spend much on it right now (might be laid off in a couple weeks!!)

Oh yea also heard of getting PCM flashed after doing solenoid pack job? Could this clear the problem?

Thanks BrooklynBay!! I guess the next step is to check the bands and go from there.

I have a couple of further questions which I hope you can help with

firstly, what am I looking at costwise to get the work done at a tranny shop if one of the bands is broken and

secondly (and this is probably a dumb question) .... I am currently getting another code for the EGR valve which I know could be related to a leak in the Vacuum System and not just the valve itself ..... could the flare issue be in anyway related to a leak in the vacuum system or is it completely independant ???

You have a ton of useful looking stuff in your list .... I'll be checking back there for sure .....

Thanks again!!!

Is the code related to the DPFE sensor? That part usually goes bad before the EGR valve. A band is not expensive, but the labor which is involved is equivalent to rebuilding the transmission. Sometimes the servos break or the bores get worn down. There is a sticky thread on the top of the transmission section with details on the servos, bores, and bands.

Yep you are right !! code p1401 - "DPFE Sensor Circuit High Input - DPF EGR sensor signal was more than the maximum calibrated value of 4.5v". not sure what that all means right now but seems it's the least of my problems.

Really appreaciate the info. I guess on my next off day I'll be trying to adjust the bands. I'll have a look at that thread! Thanks!!
